Set up your organization
A short checklist to get your Arata workspace ready for your team.
When you register a new organization, Arata creates its workspace and gives you the administrator role. Start with the settings your team needs before you add day-to-day records.
1. Check your organization details
Open Settings → Organization and confirm the organization name, time zone, date format, language, and base currency. These settings help Arata display dates and amounts consistently.
The base currency is used for organization-level reporting. Individual orders and invoices can use supported currencies when exchange rates are configured.
2. Set up ERP basics
Open ERP → Setup and review the settings that affect your documents and inventory:
- Add the tax rates your business uses.
- Confirm the default warehouse or add the warehouses where you keep stock.
- Review document details such as the business name, address, contact information, and footer that appear on printed documents.
- Set document number formats if your organization needs a particular sequence.
Arata creates a default warehouse for a new organization. You can rename it or add others in setup.
3. Add your team
Invite coworkers from Users and give each person only the access needed for their role. See Invite your team.
4. Add your starting records
Add customers and suppliers, then create products and variants. If you already keep products or partners in a spreadsheet, the ERP setup area includes CSV import and export tools.
If you are entering opening inventory, record it as a stock adjustment after your products and warehouses are ready. See Track and adjust stock.
What to do next
Some settings and actions are visible only to users whose role has the required permission. If you cannot find a setting, ask an organization administrator to review your access.
