Track and adjust stock
See what is on hand, record a count or correction, and transfer stock between warehouses.
Arata tracks stock for each product variant in each warehouse. The stock page shows what is on hand and the movements that explain how the quantity changed.
Record opening stock or a correction
- Open ERP → Stock and choose Adjust stock.
- Select the variant and warehouse.
- Choose the adjustment type: IN to add stock, OUT to remove it, or COUNT to set the recorded quantity to the amount you counted.
- Enter the quantity and a note explaining the adjustment, then save.
Use COUNT when you have physically counted the item and want Arata’s on-hand quantity to match that count. Keep the note clear so your team can understand the change later.
Transfer stock
Choose Transfer on the stock page, then select the variant, source warehouse, destination warehouse, and quantity. A transfer records stock leaving one warehouse and arriving at the other.
Understand available quantity
On-hand stock is the quantity currently recorded in a warehouse. Confirmed sales orders reserve the remaining quantity to deliver, so available stock can be lower than on hand. When backorders are disabled, an order cannot be confirmed if it needs more than the available quantity.
Deliveries from sales orders reduce stock; receipts against purchase orders increase it. You can fulfil an order in parts, so stock changes as each quantity is delivered or received.
Review stock history
Use the stock movement list to trace adjustments, transfers, deliveries, and receipts. Arata keeps stock movements as a history rather than letting users edit past movements.
Negative stock is blocked by default. If an adjustment or order is refused, check the selected warehouse and available quantity, or ask an administrator to review the inventory settings.
